Monique Mot Bailey

Monique Mot Bailey is a Swiss and Belgian pianist, living in Switzerland since 2003. Monique studied at the Brussels Conservatoire and at the Manhattan School of Music where she graduated with the first ever Masters Degree in two piano in the US, with her twin sister Anne-Marie Mot in 1990. The Mot Sisters performed in the US, with several appearances in Miami, Washington DC and New York and in Belgium and Germany. They recorded a world premiere CD of Recuerdos by William Bolcom, and Two Pianos by Morton Gould.
In Switzerland, Monique has performed with at the Music Festival in Geneva and she performed solo and with cellist Amaryllis Roper for the Concerts d’été en Vieille Ville .

In August 2022, she played the Carnival of the Animals from Camille Saint-Saens with her sister pianist Anne-Marie, and Ahmed Hamdy conducting the Intermezzo Ensemble at the Variations Musicales de Tannay.

Monique performed at the WHO 75th Healing Arts concert at Victoria Hall on April 8, 2023 playing Gershwin “An American in Paris” with pianist Anastasia Voltchok, and sharing the stage with Renée Fleming , Pretty Yende and several international artists and the Orchestre des Nations. In May 2023, she accompanied Renée Fleming at the opening of the World Health Assembly in Geneva.

Monique is the Lead piano teacher at the International School of Geneva since 2010, sharing her love for music with many students and successfully developing in them a real bond with music and piano.
